Nearly two years after opening its first Spokane-area store at 9324 N. Division, California-based shoe giant Skechers USA Inc. is making plans for a second outlet, near the southeast corner of Sprague Avenue and Evergreen Road in Spokane Valley.

The Skechers website lists 14008 E. Sprague, in the Evergreen Marketplace Shopping Center, as the intended site for its new Valley store. As of earlier this week, a banner that read, “Skechers Coming Soon” hung from the building there, and interior improvements to the space were underway. Company media representatives, however, decline to provide details on a new store at that site. 

Signs at the shopping center show the 10,900-square-foot space, neighboring an Office Depot store, had been marketed for lease through Spokane-based commercial real estate broker Hawkins Co.

Hawkins Co. leasing agent Shaun Greear couldn’t be reached immediately for comment on the location.

Founded in 1992, Skechers is a Manhattan Beach, Calif.-based footwear company that sells a wide range of both casual and athletic shoes and related accessories for men, women, and kids.

The company lists its products as being sold through more than 2,400 U.S. retail stores, as well as online.
