Lincoln Center returns to its roots as church venue

True Hope buys complex to serve growing assembly

April 13, 2017
Mike McLean

True Hope Church, a Spokane-based Assemblies of God church, has bought for $2.6 million the Lincoln Center, at 1316 N. Lincoln, where True Hope has consolidated its South Hill and North Side operations, says Ryan Layton, a commercial real estate broker involved in the transaction.

The purchase includes a pair of two-story houses on the southeast corner of Lincoln Street and Sinto Avenue, adjacent to the 33,100-square-foot Lincoln Center, says Layton, a broker with American Real Estate Associates Inc., of Spokane.

Another commercial real estate broker, Jeff McGougan, of Spokane-based NAI Black, also was involved in the transaction.

The church has been holding services at the South Hill Seventh Day Adventist Church campus at 5607 S. Freya and at Mead High School, at 302 W. Hastings.

The original structure at the Lincoln Center site started as a church in early 1900s, and had been expanded by a number of succeeding churches.

Three brothers, Terry, Richard, and Chris Heftel, bought the property in 2006, and remodeled it, consolidating the art deco style throughout the complex. The Heftels opened the Lincoln Center in 2008 as an event center with two large ballrooms, a large conference center, two commercial kitchens, and a number of smaller meeting areas.

In recent years, Red Rock Catering & Events, which is affiliated with Glover Mansion Events LLC, of Spokane, has managed events at the Lincoln Center as the owners took less active roles in its operation, Layton says.

Red Rock has worked out a cohabitation agreement with the church, and will continue scheduling events there at least through year-end, he says.

Office

Feichtner Data Group Inc., a Spokane data collection and translation technology service, has leased 2,500 square feet of office space in the Northtown Office Building, at 4407 N. Division, and plans to expand there, while keeping its current 1,600 square feet of office space at 1817 E. Springfield. Lou Neeser and Tim Kestell, both of Kiemle & Hagood Co., and Nick Brumback, of Brumback Commercial Real Estate, handled the transaction.

Scott L. Poorman PC, a North Idaho law practice, has leased 1,000 square feet office space in the Global Credit Union Financial Center, at 320 E. Neider, in Coeur d’Alene, and has moved there from similar-sized quarters at 8884 N. Government Way, in Hayden. Casey Brazil and Shawn McMahon, both of Kiemle & Hagood Co., handled the transaction.

Steiner’s Quality Roofing LLC has leased 2,100 square feet of office and warehouse space at 10733 N. Government Way, in Hayden, and has moved there from a home base. Craig Hunter and Rob Kannapien, both of Coldwell Banker Commercial Schneidmiller Realty, handled the transaction.

Investment

H&S Group Investments LLC, of Spokane, has leased a 2,600-square-foot retail building at 2407 N. Monroe, where it has opened a Save Mart convenience store. Jim Orcutt, of NAI Black, handled the transaction.

Dasher LLC, of Greenacres, has bought as an investment the 38-unit Brooks Square apartment complex at 10211 E. Main. Jay Overholser, of SDS Realty Inc., handled the transaction.
