New T-O Engineers office scores work on 10 projects

Firm currently employs 5 in Spokane, to add more

April 21, 2016
LeAnn Bjerken

Since opening its first Washington office here this past December, Meridian Idaho-based engineering firm T-O Engineers Inc. has started more than 10 projects in the Spokane area.

J.R. Norvell, office manager for T-O Engineers Spokane office, says the company’s largest clients here so far are Spokane Airports and Avista Corp, but it also is working on a number of smaller projects for private clients.

According to Norvell, the company chose Spokane for a new office, because it already had developed some clients here and wanted to expand on that customer base in Washington.

“Our focus is on growing in the areas of transportation, municipal, water, wastewater, and survey work,” says Norvell. “So far, the community has been supportive and welcoming.”

He says of the 10 active projects on which the company is providing engineering services, the largest is a $6 million project at Felts Field that includes reconstruction of taxi ways and taxi lines.

T-O Engineers is a full service civil engineering firm providing planning, project design, land surveying, and construction administration services.

Along with its headquarters in Meridian and its branch office here, the company has branch offices in Coeur d’Alene and Nampa, Idaho.

The company moved into a 2,000 square foot office space at 121 W. Pacific in December, and since that time has hired four new office staff members and plans to hire at least two more by the end of the year. The office has five employees, including administrative and professional personnel. Altogether the company employs 61 people across its four locations.

The new offices are located in a renovated warehouse that was converted into office space.
