Valley boatlift distributor purchased

Pacific Harbor's territory spans Inland Northwest

February 25, 2016

Brady A. Kriegh, of Spokane, has bought longtime Spokane Valley boatlift seller Pacific Harbor Distributors.

Pacific Harbor, which was founded here in 1980, is located at 6506 E. Main, where it occupies about an acre of land with a 1,600-square-foot warehouse.

Kriegh says the transaction included the business name, inventory, and assets, which he acquired from Jim Smith, who owned the company for 15 years.

Pacific Harbor primarily handles boatlifts and docks made by Nicollet, Minn.-based Hewitt Machine & Manufacturing Inc., although the company also carries parts and accessories made by other manufacturers, he says.

Pacific Harbor’s service area includes Central and Eastern Washington and North Idaho.

Kriegh, who’s been involved in sales and construction for 20 years, says he was looking to own a business when he was presented with the option to buy Pacific Harbor.

“It kind of fit my life,” says Kriegh, who now helps clients design lift and dock systems to suit their needs.

Pacific Harbor has no other employees, although it subcontracts Boat Lift Service, of Spokane, to install lifts and docks.

Commercial real estate brokers Chris Bornhoft, of Windermere/Manito LLC, of Spokane, and Tim Kelley, of Windermere Real Estate Cornerstone, of Spokane Valley, negotiated the transaction.

Smith, the former owner, says it’s been a fun business through the years.

“I’m just retired now and trying to figure out what to do next,” he says.
