$1 million physical therapy clinic slates on South Hill

Practice to move just north of current location

December 3, 2015

Construction of a new, 7,000-square-foot physical therapy clinic is slated to start next spring on Spokane’s South Hill and to be completed that summer, says the project’s architect.

Shane Mercier, owner of Mercier Architecture & Planning, has designed a new building for Tailwind Physical Therapy that’s to be located at 505 E.  28th, at the northwest corner of Grand Boulevard and 28th Avenue. The site currently is vacant.

The estimated construction cost of the two-story building is $1 million. Mercier says Spokane-based Yost, Mooney & Pugh Contractors Inc. will be the general contractor on the project.

Designs call for a 4,500-square-foot first floor and 2,500 square feet of space on the second floor, Mercier says. “It’s going to be a good-looking building with bricks, steel, and lots of glass,” Mercier says.

Tailwind Physical Therapy, currently located near the project site, at 2814 S. Grand Blvd., will only have to move about 40 yards to its new home when completed, Mercier says. A predevelopment application was filed with the city of Spokane last month.

Tailwind Physical Therapy owners Jeff and Kimber Royter couldn’t be reached for comment.

Tailwind Physical Therapy’s website lists eight employees, including owner Jeff Royter.
