Baking supply Fat Daddio's expands its Spokane base

Company's headquarters grows in Schade Towers

October 22, 2015

Spokane-based baking supply company Global Ultimate’s LLC, which does business as Fat Daddio’s, has leased 3,200 square feet of space in the Schade Towers building, where it plans to expand from adjacent space, says Greg Skipper, a principal in the company.

Altogether, Fat Daddio’s will occupy 5,800 square feet of space on the second floor of the building following tenant improvements to the recently leased space, Skipper says.

Fat Daddio’s administration, sales, and customer service is handled through its Spokane headquarters, he says. The company’s main distribution facility is in Lakewood, south of Tacoma.

Skipper says the company also is negotiating for warehouse space near Amsterdam from which it plans to distribute to customers in Europe.

Fat Daddio’s currently ships products to more than 50 countries, he says.

“We’ve been growing and selling around the world,” Skipper says. “Our distributors and retailers dot the planet.”

The company has 15 employees, he says. “Five of them are new since last year.”

Commercial real estate agents, Jim Orcutt and Jeff McGougan, both of NAI Black, of Spokane, brokered the lease for the expansion.

The remodel project includes removing some doors and demolishing interior walls to create open office space.

“We like open exposed ductwork and the look of brick,” he says. “We want to keep the original charm of the building rather than having it look too corporate.”

Office

Robert J. Rose MD, a Spokane physician with a medical practice of the same name, has leased 1,200 square feet of space in the Magnesium Business Center, at 111 E. Magnesium, and plans to move his practice there from a building planned for redevelopment in the Heritage North shopping center, at 9405 N. Newport Highway. Matthew Byrd, of Sperry Van Ness Cornerstone, and Chris Collins, Kelly Collins, and Terry McAleer, all of NAI Black, negotiated the lease.

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the military and civil engineering public agency, has leased 2,100 square feet of space at 8901 E. Trent for a new Spokane-area office. Chad Carper, of Kiemle & Hagood Co., handled the transaction.

Country Aire Technologies Inc., a Tacoma-based air quality and cleaning equipment distributor, has leased 1,800 square feet of space in the Mullan Office Center, at 1120 N. Mullan Road, for a Spokane Valley office. Darren Slackman, of NAI Black, handled the transaction.

Retail

JJ’s Warehouse Treasures, an Airway Heights new and used goods merchant, has leased 9,100 square feet of space at 12711 W. U.S. 2 and has moved there from smaller quarters at 1100 S. Garfield Road. Drew Ulrick and Brian Anderson, both of NAI Black, handled the transaction.

Sport Clips, the Georgetown, Texas-based men’s haircut chain, has leased 1,300 square feet of space in a retail center at 2525 E. 29th for a new salon. Chad Carper and Colin Conway, both of Kiemle & Hagood Co., handled the transaction. Sport Clips’ other Spokane-Coeur d’Alene-area shops are located at 4805 N. Division, on the North Side; at 10 N. Sullivan Road, in Spokane Valley; and at 93 W. Prairie, in Hayden.
