Coffman Engineers opens new office in Bozeman

Firm hopes to boost presence in that region

February 26, 2015
Staff Report

Coffman Engineers Inc., the multicity engineering firm with a large Spokane office, has opened an office in Bozeman, Mont.

The office is Coffman’s eighth overall, and the 36-year-old company says it’s intended to increase its presence in the Rocky Mountain region.

Dave Coffman, the company’s Seattle-based founder and CEO, says in a press release that it has had clients in that region for many years.

“We look forward to joining the Bozeman community and developing relationships for the long term,” he says.

Canaan Bontadelli, a native of the region who has worked in Coffman’s Seattle office for the past 13 years, has moved to Bozeman and will serve as that office’s operations manager. Adrienne Pool, a Spokane-based marketing manager for Coffman, says another engineer is moving to Bozeman from the company’s Anchorage office. Pool says the Spokane operations will provide support to the new branch for the foreseeable future, and she’s unsure how many people will work in the new office once it’s fully staffed up. In all, Pool says, Coffman now employs about 310 people. Of those, she says, about 80 work in Spokane.

Coffman last opened a new office a year ago, when it set up shop in Oakland, Calif., and hired the staff of a smaller engineering firm that wound down its operations.

In addition to its previously mentioned offices in Spokane, Seattle, Anchorage, Oakland, and Bozeman, Coffman has a presence in Los Angeles, Honolulu, and Hagatna, Guam.
