Buffalo Wild Wings to build new restaurant in Coeur d'Alene

Chain to open outlet south of Golden Corral

April 10, 2014

Buffalo Wild Wings Inc., the fast-growing national chicken-wing restaurant chain, plans to open its first Coeur d’Alene outlet in a building to be constructed by a Western Washington-based developer, according to building permit information on file with the city of Coeur d’Alene.

The developer, CDA Enterprises LLC, of Mercer Island, has obtained a building permit for a freestanding, 5,400-square-foot structure in a retail center at 407 W. Neider, the city information shows. The project site is just north of a multitenant building anchored by a Super Supplements outlet, and south of a new Golden Corral Buffet & Grill restaurant that opened earlier this month.

The permit lists the project value at $600,000 for the building shell, which doesn’t include the value of equipment and furnishings.

Representatives of Buffalo Wild Wings couldn’t be reached for comment.

Vandervert Construction, Inc., of Spokane, is the contractor on the project, and Russell C. Page Architects PS, also of Spokane, designed it. The Spokane office of Seattle-based DCI Engineers is the structural engineer on the project.

Tim Stulc, vice president of Vandervert Construction, says the building shell will be completed by July. Tenant improvements, which Buffalo Wild Wings will coordinate separately, likely will be completed a couple of months after that, Stulc says.

The restaurant will share a parking lot with the Golden Corral restaurant, building permit information shows.

CDA Enterprises also recently developed the 8,000-square foot, $850,000 Golden Corral building, which Vandervert Construction erected, and Page contributed to its design.

Last year, Buffalo Wild Wings opened is first Spokane-area outlet—a 6,100-square-foot restaurant at 14702 E. Indiana.
