Phone store to move to new building at Argonne Village

Verizon retailer leases half of building planned to have two retail bays

Cell Phone Outlet Inc., a Spokane-based Verizon Wireless retailer, plans to move its Spokane Valley outlet into a larger space in a building soon to be constructed at the Argonne Village shopping center, says Darrin Tawney, Cell Phone Outlet CEO.

Tawney says the Cell Phone Outlet store has leased 1,250 square feet of space in the planned 2,500-square-foot, two-tenant building, to be erected at 9511 E. Montgomery. The project site is on a vacant parcel of land in Argonne Village, just east of a Yoke's Fresh Market grocery store in which the Valley Cell Phone Outlet store currently is located.

Construction is scheduled to begin on Oct. 1, and Cell Phone Outlet hopes to open in the building Dec. 1, Tawney says.

Waynco Construction Inc., of Spokane Valley, is the contractor on the project, he says.

Robert Rosier, who owns Waynco Construction, also is a principal of Romax Associates, of Spokane, which owns Argonne Village.

The Valley store currently employs three people, and a fourth employee will be hired at the new outlet, he says. Altogether, Cell Phone Outlet employs 13 people at four locations. Its other outlets are in the Manito Shopping Center, at 3017 S. Grand; the Yoke's Fresh Market in Deer Park; and the Super 1 Foods grocery store in Rathdrum, Idaho.

Colin Conway, of the Spokane-based commercial real estate brokerage Kiemle & Hagood Co., handled the lease.

Services & Retail

Empowering Inc. Services, a Spokane social services nonprofit, has leased 12,000 square feet of space at 1025 W. Indiana and has moved there from smaller quarters at 1212 W. Sharp. Don Jamieson, of NAI Black, and Todd Rothrock, of Rothrock Co., handled the transaction.

Sandvik Mining & Construction USA LLC, a Smyrna, Ga.-based mining-equipment service and parts supplier, has leased 20,000 square feet of space in the Spokane Business & Industrial Park, at 3808 N. Sullivan. Chase Breckner, of SBIP, handled the transaction.

Art de Vine Gallery, a new art studio, has leased 1,400 square feet of space in the Gibbs Center, at 1506 Northwest Blvd, in Coeur d'Alene, where it plans to open this month. Craig Hunter and Rob Kannapien, both of Coldwell Banker Commercial Schneidmiller Realty, handled the transaction.

Investment Properties

Dave Black Properties LLC, of Spokane, has bought as an investment a vacant 4,600-square-foot retail building at 14115 E. Sprague that formerly was occupied by a Dahle's Big & Tall clothing store. Mike King and Dave Black, both of NAI Black, handled the transaction.

Charles Hodges, of Post Falls, has bought as investments two commercial structures in Post Falls totaling 10,100 square feet of floor space. One structure, located at 105 10th Ave., is occupied by the 7 Day Dental Smiles dentistry practice, the other structure, at 1003 Spokane Street, is vacant. Craig Hunter & Rob Kannapien, both of Coldwell Banker Commercial Schneidmiller Realty, handled the transaction.
