Spokane-based St. Luke's Rehabilitation Institute says it has leased space at four Spokane-area Oz Fitness locations, where two of its physical therapists have begun conducting therapy sessions by appointment.
The new St. Luke's leased areas are in Oz Fitness centers at 603 E. Holland, on the North Side; at 5501 S. Regal, on the South Hill; at 14927 E. Sprague, in Spokane Valley; and at 809 W. Main downtown. In addition to seeing patients in the new leased spaces, St. Luke's can use Oz fitness equipment and pools for therapy sessions, Monday through Thursday.
St. Luke's is leasing a total of 3,400 square feet among the four Oz Fitness locations, says Nicole Stewart, spokeswoman for Inland Northwest Health Services, which operates the rehabilitation institute. She says the partnership began Feb. 14.
Patients need a physician's referral for the therapy sessions held at the gyms, but they aren't required to be members of Oz Fitness to receive St. Luke's services there, Stewart says. The therapists at the gyms also offer free initial consultations as a community service, she says.
Spokane Valley-based Oz Fitness WA Inc., owned by Ian Riley, operates the four Oz Fitness outlets. Affiliate companies, also owned by Riley, operate two other Oz Fitness outlets in Montana and Oregon. An Oz Fitness gym in Airway Heights is owned and operated by a franchisee, Spokane Fitness LLC.
At the Valley and North Side locations, Stewart says St. Luke's has its leased spaces near the front check-in counter. For Oz clubs downtown and on the South Hill, which differ slightly in interior arrangement, the St. Luke's spaces are in the back portions of the Oz facilities.
St. Luke's provides inpatient and outpatient therapy sessions at its main campus, at 711 S. Cowley. It also operates outpatient therapy clinics in Spokane Valley, at 9119 E. Broadway, and on Spokane's North Side, at 5901 N. Mayfair.
Inland Northwest Health Services, a Spokane-based nonprofit, also operates the Northwest MedStar critical-care and air-ambulance service, the Information Resource Management electronic medical-records network, community wellness programs, and other services.
