Cheney-based pizza chain to open North Side eatery

Rosa's will have smaller seating space; main focus will be takeout, delivery

February 28, 2013

Rosa's Pizza has leased 1,300 square feet of floor space at 3422 N. Division, where it plans to open its third pizza restaurant in March, says owner Brad Barsness, who opened the flagship Rosa's Pizza restaurant in Cheney in 1990.

The restaurant tentatively is slated to open in March and will focus mostly on takeout and delivery orders, although it will have a small seating area, Barsness says.

The Division Street eatery will have up to a dozen employees, depending on the sales volume, he says.

Real estate agents Brian Anderson and Don Jamieson, both of the Spokane commercial brokerage NAI Black, handled the lease for the space on Division.

Barsness says the Rosa's Pizza makes its pizza dough and sauce daily using fresh ingredients.

The Cheney store is located in a building it shares with Cheney Lanes, which Barsness also owns, at 1706 Second. Barsness also owns the Rosa's Pizza restaurant at 1301 W. 14th in Airway Heights, which opened in 1995.

Division. Joel Crosby, of Coldwell Banker Tomlinson South, and Luann Padgham, of Continental Real Estate Co., handled the transaction.

Northwest Medical Transport LLC, of Coeur d'Alene, has bought a 2,200-square-foot building at 101 E. Walnut, in Coeur d'Alene, and plans to move there in June from leased space at 1250 W. Ironwood Drive. Craig Hunter and Rob Kannapien, both of Coldwell Banker Commercial Schneidmiller Realty, handled the transaction.

Shanon Gerry LPM, a new medical massage clinic, has leased 500 square feet of floor space at 222 W. Mission. Greg Byrd, of Byrd Real Estate Group LLC, and Craig Soehren, of Kiemle & Hagood Co., handled the transaction.

Cornerstone Pentecostal Church has bought the 22,800-square-foot former Kia of Spokane dealership building at 21326 E. Mission for $1.9 million and plans to convert the facility to a church and move there from smaller quarters at 12817 E. Broadway. Marshall Clark, of Clark Pacific Real Estate Co., and Steve Ridenour, of CB Richard Ellis Group Inc., handled the transaction.

Tanzania, Africa-based UWATA Christian Revival in America, has bought a 4,600-square-foot, two-level building formerly occupied by Showorks Inc., at 1205 N. Napa, and plans to use it as a church. Joel Crosby, of Coldwell Banker Tomlinson South, handled the transaction.

Retail & Commercial

The Idaho State Liquor Division has leased 2,900 square feet of floor space in a retail center at 685 Kootenai Cutoff Road, in Ponderay, Idaho, and plans to move a liquor store there from smaller quarters in the Bonner Mall, at 300 Bonner Mall Way. Chris Schreiber, of Kiemle & Hagood Co., handled the transaction.

Kaley Property Services Inc., a Spokane Valley property management concern doing business as KPS Management, has bought for $312,000 a 5,600-square-foot building, at 524 N. Mullan. KPS Management has moved there from 10516 E. Main, and the building's former owner, Camp Fire USA Inland Northwest Council, is leasing 1,900 square feet of office space.
