Investment firm acquires Cascade Windows

December 6, 2012

Altamont Capital Partners, a San Francisco-based private investment firm, announced today it has acquired Spokane-based Cascade Windows as part of a restructuring with existing lenders and equity holders.
Altamont said in a press release that terms of the transaction wouldn't be disclosed.
Cascade Windows, a longtime maker of vinyl windows, currently has manufacturing facilities in Spokane, Salt Lake City, and Portland, Ore., serving more than 1,400 customers in the new construction and the remodel markets in the western U.S. and Canada.
Aman Battish, a spokeswoman for Altamont, says Cascade has more than 200 employees in the Spokane area and about 400 employees companywide.
Cascade CEO Randy Emerson said in the release that the acquisition "significantly improves our balance sheet, allowing us the flexibility to better serve our customers."
Randall Eason, managing director at Altamont, said in the release, "We are excited to support the company's next stage of growth as the sector rebounds from an unprecedented downturn."
The acquisition comes almost two years after Cascade bought Empire Pacific Windows, of Tualatin, Ore. At that time, Cascade had about 450 employees.
Founded in 1989 as Window Products Inc., Cascade Windows changed its name in 2004.
