Jubilant HollisterStier Contract Manufacturing & Services, the sterile allergy product maker based here, says it has secured more than $100 million in contracts with pharmaceutical companies to be carried out at its facility here and in Montreal, Canada.

Shannon Jordan, marketing manager for Jubilant HollisterStier Contract Manufacturing & Services, says the new contracts are signed with some of the company's existing customers and are intended to expand on the services they receive already through the allergy product maker.

The contracts call for Jubilant HollisterStier to manufacture sterile parenteral products, which Jordan describes as anything that can be injected into the skin. Work stemming from the contracts is expected to start next year.

Jordan declines to disclose the customers with which the contracts were signed or how many contracts were involved, citing confidentiality agreements in place with those pharmaceutical companies.

She says the company is continually working to solidify more contracts, adding that HollisterStier is in a constant state of negotiating with potential clients.

"It usually takes several years to solidify a contract," Jordan says.

Jubilant HollisterStier announced several months ago an expansion of its testing capabilities through an analytical services unit, which also was launched at its Montreal facility.

In an article the Journal published earlier, Jordan said the expansion was a result of a noticeable need for the company to fill a gap in its service for existing customers.

Testing capabilities now available as a result of that expansion include raw material testing, impurities testing, and stability testing and storage.

Jubilant HollisterStier is a subsidiary of Jubilant Life Sciences, a life sciences and pharmaceutical company based in India.

It operates out of a 191,000 square-foot facility at 3525 N. Regal and currently employs about 550 people in Spokane. In addition to the Spokane and Montreal facilities, the company also has manufacturing facilities in Maryland and India.
