Daughter buys out mother's share of Exit on South Hill

Long-time real estate mentor, partner retires to pursue other venture

October 11, 2012
Mike McLean

Sabrina Jones-Schroeder has bought her mother's interest in G&S Real Estate Professionals Inc., a Spokane brokerage that does business as Exit Real Estate Professionals.

Jones-Schroeder says her mother, real estate mentor, and former business partner Gregg Elizabeth Jones, has retired from the industry to focus on an unrelated venture, Ideal Weight Loss Clinic.

Exit Real Estate Professionals has about 30 agents and operates out of 5,000 square feet of leased space in the Sheffield Building, at 3124 S. Regal, on the South Hill, Jones-Schroeder says.

Jones-Schroeder has been in the real estate business for 22 years, starting out as an agent in Jones' first real estate venture, Gregg Jones & Associates.

Exit Real Estate Professionals primarily serves the residential resale market, she says, adding, "That's our bread and butter, although we have represented builders."

Jones-Schroeder says the higher-end home market has started to pick up. "That's been the dead part of the market," she says. "I'm excited that the market appears to be stabilizing."

Jones-Schroeder says she's been looking forward to taking over the business, although it's somewhat daunting to be solely responsible for it now. "It's different learning how to deal with that. I've worked with my mom and partner all these years," she says. "It's been bittersweet."

Jones-Schroeder also is a partner in separately owned SL&T Real Estate LLC, which does business as Exit Real Estate Spokane Valley-Jones-Schroeder, Tangvald & Associates.

Leif Tangvald, co-owner of the Exit Real Estate Valley franchise, located in the Argonne West office complex, at 1101 N. Argonne, is the broker there.
