Burger King opens eatery in Post Falls

Spokane Valley franchisee now operates 16 outlets in the Inland Northwest

November 17, 2011

RU Hungry LLC, a Spokane Valley-based franchisee of Burger King, has opened a new eatery in Post Falls.

RU Hungry co-owner David Littlefield says this is the company's 16th Burger King location in Washington and Idaho.

The Burger King restaurant is located in a 3,000-square-foot building next to Walmart, at 2956 E. Mullan, Littlefield says. Littlefield and his partner, Gary Geiger, own the building, and independent contractor Steven King handled the construction.

Littlefield declines to disclose the total cost of the building, but says the startup cost for the new restaurant, including construction, was around $2 million.

The new outlet currently is the only Burger King restaurant in Post Falls. A restaurant had been located near Pleasantview Road at one time, but it closed several years ago, Littlefield says.

He purchased RU Hungry LLC after it declared bankruptcy in 2005—and after he retired from Jack in the Box. He says the company is planning to open three more Burger King locations in Washington and Idaho in the next two to three years.

Founded in Miami in 1954, Burger King Corp. has 12,300 locations worldwide and says it's the second-largest burger chain in the world.
