Wendle updates showroom at North Side Ford complex

Work starts as car dealer also readies to open new Infiniti display building

July 28, 2011

Wendle Motors Inc. has started work expanding and remodeling its Ford showroom, just as it nears completion of its new Infiniti showroom.

The Ford project, which is just getting under way, will include construction of a 3,600-square-foot addition to the south and west sides of the current 63,000-square-foot showroom and shop complex, says Shayne Goff, Wendle Motors' general manager.

Goff says the project will cost about $600,000, and is scheduled to be completed in September.

The remodel will encompass the entire showroom, giving it a new look, Goff says, adding, "The existing green gables will go away."

The front of the building will be removed and replaced with Ford's stainless-steel panel styling, he says. The project also will change the south entrance to the showroom, eliminating some stairs, he says.

Goff says the project will be the first major renovation of the Ford showroom since the dealership moved there in 1995.

Vandervert Construction Inc., of Spokane, is the contractor on the project, and Bernardo Wills Architects PC, also of Spokane, designed it.

Vandervert and Bernardo Wills also are the contractor and designer on Wendle Motors new, 6,000-square-foot Infiniti showroom project. That $1 million project is expected to be completed in August.
