Bozzi buys out former partners in The Deal Planet coupon site

July 28, 2011

Spokane businessman Vince Bozzi says he's bought out his former business partners' ownership interest in The Deal Planet LLC.

The Deal Planet operates a daily coupon website, similar in nature to Groupon, that features deals at businesses in the Inland Northwest.

Bozzi, who owns Spokane-based media company Northwest Best Direct Inc. with his wife, Emily, says he started The Deal Planet last November with two other business partners, Rockwell Rutter and Ramsey Pruchnic. Those two founders of the business also own a marketing company here called Se7en LLC, Bozzi says.

Rutter and Pruchnic had owned a combined 50 percent share in The Deal Planet, and Bozzi's acquisition of their share was finalized on July 1, he says. He declines to disclose the terms of the transaction.

He says he offered to purchase his former partners' shares of the business in order to move forward with plans he has to expand The Deal Planet brand.

Bozzi says he funded the majority of the business's start-up costs.
