Engineering firm expands into Valley

GN Northern acquires small Hayden firm as part of expansion here

February 24, 2011
Chey Scott

GN Northern Inc., a Yakima, Wash.-based engineering firm, has opened an office in Spokane Valley.

As part of its expansion, the company also recently acquired a Hayden, Idaho-based engineering firm, Earth Services Northwest PLLC, and retained its former owner, Karl Harmon, to serve as regional manager of GN Northern's operations here.

GN Northern was founded in 1994 and provides services in geo technical engineering, environmental consulting, construction materials testing, and soil testing.

Its 3,000-square-foot Spokane Valley office is located at 11115 E. Montgomery and includes laboratory facilities, he says. The company also is continuing to do business out of the former Earth Services office, located at 10623 N. Government Way, in Hayden, he says.

Harmon says GN Northern formerly had been providing its services in Eastern Washington and North Idaho from its offices in Yakima and Kennewick, Wash.

GN Northern also has offices in Hermiston and Hood River, Ore.
