These conceptual drawings show the first and latter two phases of Washington State University Spokane's envisioned Biomedical and Health Sciences Building proposed for the Riverpoint Campus east of downtown. It would be constructed along the north side of Spokane Falls Boulevard just east of the College of Nursing building. Tentative plans, dependent on obtaining legislative funding approval, call for the first phase, at left, to be completed in 2013, and for the northern second phase and eastern third phase, depicted at right, to be completed later. The Legislature just approved $3.5 million in additional design funding for the expanded project, now estimated to cost $78 million. WSU announced last September that it had selected Seattle architectural firm NBBJ to do pre-design and design planning of the project.
