Eclipse Power Yoga, a new yoga studio, has opened in the Moran Prairie Shopping Center on Spokane’s South Hill.

The business is co-owned by Spokane natives Scott and Erin Heyamoto, who are also two of the yoga instructors teaching at the newly opened space.

“We wanted to provide a safe, empowering space for people to find their light and learn to become leaders in the community,” says Heyamoto.

He says the two are leasing a 1,000-square-foot space at 3209 E. 57th that formerly housed an e-cig retailer called Smart Smoke Shop.

“We worked with Vanguard contracting to do a total remodel and really make the space our own,” he says.

Heyamoto says the studio, which opened Nov. 9, offers instruction in power yoga, yen yoga, and slow flow yoga.

“All of our classes are power based, so they’re a bit faster and more intense than regular yoga,” he says. “The focus is more on building strength and less on meditation.”

In addition to the Heyamotos, the business employs another three instructors and has plans to keep growing.

“Our main goal is to build a group of yogis here that are interested in sharing their light and helping to serve the community,” he says.
