Cornerstone lands second tenant for redeveloped office building

March 25, 2010
Jeanne Gustafson

Cornerstone Property Advisors LLC, of Spokane, says it has secured a second tenant for a building it redeveloped last year, and also plans to move its own offices to the building, at 1311 N. Washington, in April.

The Spokane office of the Washington state Board of Industrial Insurance Appeals has leased an about 4,200-square-foot space in the building and plans to move there on May 1, Cornerstone says.

The agency currently is located in the Old City Hall, at 221 N. Wall, downtown.

Guy Byrd, Matthew Byrd, and Dwight Sherwood, all of Cornerstone Property Advisors, bought the 19,000-square-foot building about two years ago. Byrd says converting the Cornerstone Building from a retail warehouse into office and mixed-use space has cost about $1 million.

Vandervert Construction Inc., of Spokane, did the renovations, and Bernardo Wills Architects PC, of Spokane, designed the project.

Cornerstone plans to move its own offices into an about 3,100-square-foot space in the building in April, from its current location at 1015 N. Calispel.

Haakenson Group, a Washington-based company that specializes in furniture sales to government agencies, moved into a 2,200-square-foot suite there last July.

Guy Byrd says Cornerstone still is seeking tenants for about 9,000 square feet of office and warehouse or storage space there.
