Sam Thoen, who owns and operates Unified Fitness, at 9119 E. Broadway, in Spokane, plans to relocate the store in early September to newly built retail space at 6818 E. Sprague.

With a total of five employees including himself, Thoen says it became necessary to find a new home to accommodate his 100-member gym, which has nearly returned to pre-COVID levels.

“We saw a substantial drop ... about 20%, but most of them have returned,” says Thoen, who founded United Fitness in September 2016.

United Fitness’s new home will be spread across two first-floor retail suites at a site where the previous structure was destroyed by a fire in February 2019.

Dolphin Enterprises LLC owned the building and began construction on a new facility last year, the Journal reported in July 2020.
