The Journal of Business has named six honorees to its 2024 class of Business Icons.

They are:

  • Jeanne Ager: inaugural executive director of the Greater Spokane Community Foundation, now the Innovia Foundation, and co-owner of Ager Consulting Co.
  • Clyde Haase: former owner of Haase Landscape Inc. and House To Home co-host.
  • Johnny Humphreys: retired CEO of Itron Inc.
  • Mark Sonderen: former owner and retired president of Sonderen Packaging Inc.
  • Nancy Vorhees: former chief operating officer of Inland Northwest Health Services.
  • Mike Wilson: retired president and CEO of Sacred Heart Medical Center.

The Journal selected award recipients, which comprise the sixth class of Icons, from nominations received from Journal readers in recent months. To be eligible, Icon honorees must be 70 years old or older and retired or no longer involved in day-to-day operations. They must have spent the bulk of their careers in the Inland Northwest, and because the awards aren’t given posthumously, recipients must be living.

The 2024 class of honorees will be recognized at an event to be held noon to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 9, at the Spokane Convention Center.

Sponsored by Ferguson Wellman, Bank of America, Innovia Foundation, and Greater Spokane Incorporated, the Icons event is the second of six the Journal will host this year, following the People of Influence event in January. After Icons, upcoming Journal events are Women In Leadership, in June; 2024 Rising Stars, in September; Best Places To Work, in October; and Workforce Summit, in December.
