Nellie Allen, owner and operator of Pure Wax Bar, has opened a full-service body waxing boutique at 325 S. Sullivan, in Spokane Valley.

Allen, and business associate Megan Baker, have a deceptively spacious and cool boutique equipped with six private rooms in an office suite that’s just a little more than 1,500 square feet. Pure Wax Bar is located between Froyo Earth and Forza Coffee Co. shops, a few blocks south of the Sullivan Road-Sprague Avenue intersection.

Allen and Baker currently make up the staff at Pure Wax Bar, but Allen says she plans to hire another employee before the end of the month due to demand.

“I always had a goal and a vision to run this kind of a business,” says Allen, who moved to Spokane from Colorado Springs, Colorado, a couple of years ago with her husband, a sales representative here for a cosmetic injections company.

Pure Wax Bar offers a full body wax menu that ranges in price from a $10 lip wax to legs for $70. Wax packages – including brows, lip, and eyebrow tint – start at $38. A deluxe Pure Wax package, which includes a Brazilian, under arms, legs, and a stomach strip runs $150. Allen has posted the company’s complete menu on its Facebook and Instagram pages.

Allen says Pure Wax Bar also offers dermaplaning, a facial treatment that provides a deep exfoliation of dead skin and facial hair that’s intended to leave skin brighter, smoother, and softer when complete.

“The end result is a removal of at least three to four weeks of dead skin,” she says.

Allen says her ultimate goal is to help give confidence to her customers.

“We want our customers to love their skin and to have a confidence about their appearance,” she says.
