Spokane-based Quantum Financial Planning Inc. is moving into the first floor of an office building it acquired a year ago in Spokane's North Bank neighborhood.

The 45-year-old financial planning company purchased the building, located across from the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena at 720 W. Boone, for $1.75 million in August 2023, Spokane County Assessor’s Office records show.

Since 1989, Quantum Financial had operated out of the Rock Pointe Corporate Center, at 1212 N. Washington, a few blocks west of its new location. A growing staff and desire for more accessible client parking drove the decision to relocate, says Jordan Curnutt, a partner at Quantum Financial.

“We really wanted to stay at Spokane’s core, but at the same time, our clients really value parking,” he says.

The locally-owned, independently operated company has added five new employees in the last 18 months, bringing its total to 15, Curnutt says.

Quantum Financial bought the 14,580-square-foot building from Spokane-based law firm Stamper Rubens PS, which will remain as a tenant and occupy the two-story building’s entire second floor.

Quantum Financial will occupy over 4,000 square feet of the newly renovated 6,000-square-foot first floor. The Institute for Family Development occupies the remaining first-floor space.

The first-floor renovation project is value at $1.4 million, according to an initial building permit application.

“We gutted it,” Curnutt says. “It had been quite a while since there’d been an update on the first floor.”

Spokane-based Copeland Architecture & Construction Inc. was the architect for the renovation project, and Ramey Construction Co., also of Spokane, was the contractor.

Curnutt says it was important to maintain the Quantum Financial’s central location in Spokane.

“We have clients north, south, east, and west,” he says.

Quantum Financial manages over $600 million in client assets under advisory. The firm provides comprehensive financial planning services, including wealth management, retirement planning, and tax planning.
