Spokane Valley-based CityPost acquired by PrimeSource Brands

Cable railing manufacturer to bolster Texas company's nationwide portfolio

CityPost LLC, a Spokane Valley-based manufacturer of patented cable railing systems, has been acquired by PrimeSource Brands, of Irving, Texas.

Michael Mosback, cofounder and CEO of CityPost, says in a press release that the transaction is expected to enhance CityPost's ability to deliver value to customers and drive growth for both companies.

CityPost makes cable railing systems that are designed for use on residential decks, patios, and lofts. The systems are sold through the company's website, wholesale distributors, and big-box retailers. The acquisition is expected to bolster PrimeSource's existing outdoor living portfolio, according to a press release from PrimeSource Brands.

The company is one of two manufacturers to join PrimeSource Brands' group of companies in December and is the seventh acquisition since December 2020, the release states.

Tom Koos, CEO of PrimeSource Brands, says in the press release that CityPost's railing system complements the company's existing lines of building products and further advances the company's position in the market.

PrimeSource Brands sells and distributes residential building products, such as construction fasteners, functional hardware, and home decor items for kitchens, bathrooms, and outdoor living spaces.

Companies under the PrimeSource brand include PrimeSource Building Products Inc., RailFX, Nationwide Industries, and Lockey USA, according to its website.

CityPost began operating from Mosback's Liberty Lake-based garage in 2018 and has experienced enough growth over the last seven years to prompt the relocation of the business to Spokane Valley, where the company's headquarters and distribution center is located, he says.

Mosbeck declines to disclose the number of full-time employees at CityPost, but he notes that the company's staff won't require retraining under the new ownership.
