Inland Imaging LLC is planning a $4.5 million renovation of its South Hill location, according to a pre-development conference application on file with the city of Spokane.
Representatives of Inland Imaging decline for now to comment.
Records list Spokane-based NAC Architecture as the project’s architect. A contractor isn't listed yet.
Documents for the project, dubbed Inland Imaging Regional Breast Center, show the medical imaging company is planning to remodel the bottom two floors of an existing three-story building at 801 S. Stevens, in the Cliff-Cannon neighborhood.
The proposed remodel will provide space for screening, diagnostics, magnetic resonance imaging, known as MRI imaging, and procedure areas for the organization’s Regional Breast Center outpatient clinic.
A floor plan of the ground floor shows a lobby, reception area, and waiting room with 21 seats. The ground floor plan also shows an MRI exam room accompanied by MRI control, tech, and equipment rooms. Plans indicate there will be two exam rooms for mammogram imaging, which is used to detect early signs of breast cancer. Plans also show a dedicated room for bone density medical testing and a dedicated office for a genetic counselor.
For the floor above that, plans show a waiting area for 17 patients, a reception area, three rooms dedicated to mammogram examinations, rooms for biopsy testing, a procedure pod, and a diagnostic pod. The first floor plans also indicate a break room for staff. Both floors are accessible via a stairwell and elevator.
Exterior improvements to the 21,000-square-foot building are also proposed and include cladding, fresh paint, and a new canopy at the building’s entryway.
Records on file indicate that construction is expected to begin in the fall.
Inland Imaging’s central billing office is located on the third floor of the building. As reported by the Journal, the central billing office provides outsource billing and revenue-cycle management for critical access hospitals and associated rural health clinics.
