Liberty Lake-based Spokane Teachers Credit Union is rolling out the new year with the opening of a new branch and an announcement about two future branches across Spokane and Coeur d’Alene.

On Wednesday, Jan. 7, STCU will open its Mt. Spokane branch, located just off the roundabout near Spokane’s North Side Costco at 1734 E. Renshaw Drive, the financial institution announced in a press release. The 3,470-square-foot financial center adds another location for members who currently bank at STCU’s North Spokane, Indian Trail, and Northtown Square branches, the release states.

In late 2026, STCU plans to open a Lincoln Heights branch on the northeast corner of 29th Avenue and Mt. Vernon Street, at 2807 E. 29th, on Spokane's South Hill. The location will provide a third option for STCU members who bank at STCU’s South and Moran Prairie branches.

In Coeur d’Alene, the credit union plans to open its sixth branch in Kootenai County at the corner of Kathleen Avenue and Highway 95, at 505 Kathleen. The branch is tentatively planned to open in late 2027.

“These three new branches are strategically located to provide options for our busier neighborhoods,” says Chris Severin, STCU senior vice president of retail, in the release. “They’ll be convenient for many of our members.”

STCU will host a grand opening celebration for the Mt. Spokane branch on Wednesday, Jan. 21, from 2 to 4 p.m.

Spokane-based Bernardo Wills Architects PC designed the Mt. Spokane branch. James W. Elmer Construction Co., also of Spokane, was the general contractor.

The Mt. Spokane branch opening marks the credit union’s 51st branch, after hitting its 50-branch milestone in October with the opening of its Columbia Center branch in Richland, Washington. In May, STCU completed its acquisition of Joseph, Oregon-based Community Bank, bringing STCU’s branch network to 49 total locations.
