SH Storage doubles capacity with expansion

RV self-storage company SH Storage LLC, of Airway Heights, is planning to expand its capacity with the development of two new buildings featuring 28 new RV storage units this spring.

Two proposed buildings, at the company’s 4.5-acre property at 11822 W. 21st in Airway Heights, will bring SH Storage’s total number of buildings to five, says Scott Case, owner of SH Storage.

Case purchased the property and business, formerly operating as RPL Storage LLC, in October 2025 for $2.75 million, he says. The three existing vehicle storage buildings were purchased with the property. Each structure has more than 6,000 square feet of space and 10 units.

Case applied for commercial building permits for the two new structures in January. Bunker Steel Buildings Inc., of Spokane, which does business as Bunker Buildings and specializes in steel garage construction, is the general contractor.

Groundwork, including paving, was previously completed at the end of 2025, Case adds.

The total expansion project, including groundwork, building, and electrical work, is valued at $800,000, says Case. Construction is expected to begin as soon as building permits are approved, which could occur by the end of the month, he says. Construction of the two new buildings is expected to be completed this spring.

"We're just waiting for the finalization on the building permits themselves, which we're hoping for any day now," Case says.

A smaller, 7,000-square-foot building with ten units — similar in design to the three existing storage buildings at the property — is valued at $275,000, Case says. A second, larger 11,000-square-foot building will be comprised of 18 units with an estimated construction value of $485,000.

Both buildings will feature storage units of 13 feet wide and 48 feet deep. Units in the larger of the two structures will have 110-volt outlets, a feature the other buildings don’t have. The buildings will be constructed barn-style, with wooden framing being constructed first, followed by steel siding and roofing, electrical, and insulation work.

After construction of the new structures is complete, SH Storage expects to have 58 units available between its five buildings. Each unit will have the capacity to store a large RV or up to three standard-size cars, Case explains.

SH Storage currently maintains just two employees — Scott Case and his wife, Holly Case.
