Wealth Hospitality Group LLC, a Ridgeland, Mississippi-based construction and development company, is expected to begin building a 26,000-square-foot, 168-room hotel in Airway Heights this spring.

A four-story dual-branded Home2 Suites by Hilton and Tru by Hilton hotel will occupy the north half of an 8.5-acre piece of long-vacant land owned by West Plains Business Park LLC, which also owns three other lots surrounding the property. The project doesn’t have an address, but is located east of an AutoZone retail store at the southeast corner of Sunset Highway and Russell Street.

The remaining south half of the property will remain undeveloped for now.

Tommy Tomczak, president and CEO of West Plains Business Park LLC, says he's selling the 8.5-acre property for $2 million and hopes to close the sale in April, followed by the start of construction shortly thereafter.

The development has been in the works since 2024 and has been delayed several times, says Tomczak.

“It took a bit of time to get through all the red tape; however, that is done and things appear to be a go,” he says.

Wealth Hospitality Group did not respond to the Journal’s request for comment.

An estimated construction cost isn't available on planning documents. Other hotel projects under development in the last two years had construction values ranging from $6 million for a four-story, 91-room Cambria Hotel, near Spokane International Airport, to $25 million for a six-story, 126-room AC Hotel by Marriott, in Coeur d'Alene.

The most recent permitting information available is the project’s State Environmental Policy Act, or SEPA, application approved in April 2025. Pullman, Washington-based Syntier Engineering Inc. prepared the application and an accompanying conditional use permit application, Tomczak confirms.

Parekh Architects PLLC, of Cypress, Texas, is the hotel project architect, according to design plans.

Tomczak plans to sell three surrounding lots when the hotel project is complete and will offer seller financing, he says.
