New Hires & Promotions


Seattle-based Coffman Engineers Inc. has promoted three employees at its Spokane office. Rebecca Matlack has been promoted to principal, civil engineering from civil engineering department manager, senior engineer, and project manager. Daniel Updegrove and Dave Helsing both have been named associates as part of the company's associate program. Updegrove previously served as discipline engineer, mechanical engineering. Helsing was previously a senior project manager, mechanical engineering - industrial.
Spokane-based oncology clinic Cancer Care Northwest has hired Zohair Vaid as pharmacy director. Vaid previously served as pharmacy manager for Sarah Cannon Research Institute in Orlando, Florida.




Spokane Valley-based Enhanced Software Products Inc., a credit union software company, has promoted five employees. Kyle Wolfley has been promoted to digital experience lead from his role in client services. Micah Simon has been promoted to digital experience specialist from a tech support role. Teri Hilfiker has been promoted to manager of client support from customer service representative. Shelly Rogers has been promoted to vice president of product from client support manager. Alex Ray was promoted to vice president of technology from network security engineer.
The Spokane Chiefs hockey team has promoted George Ross to assistant general manager from director of U.S. scouting.
Whitworth University has appointed Laura Galloway as dean of the Whitworth School of Business. Galloway previously worked for University of Massachusetts Global in Irvine, California, as associate vice chancellor for institutional curriculum, assessment, and academic policy.
Awards & Designations
Providence has named Kim Kelly, CEO of Christ Kitchen, recipient of the 2026 Sister Peter Claver Humanitarian Award, in acknowledgement of her leadership at Christ Kitchen and her service as a chaplain for the Spokane Police Department. The award recognizes individuals who demonstrate leadership and a commitment to serving others. Other nominees for the award included Terry Beuhl, Michael Brown, Shaun Cross, Mary Lou Johnson, Ken Kapstafer, Pamela Kohlmeier, Thayne McCulloh, and Becky Van Keulen.
The Washington Policy Center’s Empowering Women Leadership Awards recognized Spokane-area women leaders last month for their leadership and impact. Katy Bruya, of Washington Trust Bank, won the Business Leader Award. State Rep. Suzanne Schmidt received the Government Leader Award. Jill Olson, of Young Professionals for Washington Policy Center, won the Young Professionals Leader Award. Save Our Spokane founder Christine Quinn received the Community Leadership Award. Lisa Saddler, of Ascenda, won the Nonprofit Leadership Award.
Spokane-based Trek Architecture received four awards at the 2026 AIA Spokane Design Awards, including the Honor Award, the Excellence in Sustainability Award, the Citation Award, and the Merit Award. The firm’s recognized projects included The 803 apartments, the Inland Hardware building, the Ferry Street Flats, and the SHED Artist Studio, respectively.
