Progressions Credit Union is investing nearly $4 million to build a new facility in Spokane Valley, a project that will position the financial cooperative for its next generation of growth while expanding its visibility and improving service for members, says Progressions Credit Union CEO Susan Vuong.

The Spokane-based credit union plans to break ground Aug. 18 a new headquarters facility. As planned, a two-story, 5,800-square-foot building will be constructed at 19017 E. Appleway. Construction is expected to conclude in the spring of 2027, and the building will be operational shortly afterward, says Vuong. 

Progressions purchased the property for $600,000 in 2023, the Journal previously reported.

Spokane-based Fusion Architecture PLLC is the architect, and Baker Construction & Development Inc., also of Spokane, is the contractor, according to permit information on file with the city of Spokane Valley. 

"This project has been in the works for several years as part of a broader effort to ensure Progressions Credit Union remains well positioned for the future," Vuong says. "We took a thoughtful and measured approach, evaluating our operational needs, member experience, and long-term strategic goals before deciding to move forward."

Progressions will relocate its headquarters from 2919 E. Mission, in Spokane, upon completion of the project. The new location will improve operational efficiency while providing members with an accessible and recognizable location, Vuong says.

"Membership growth has been steady, but this project is really about long-term sustainability and member service," she says. "The new facility gives us the visibility, accessibility, and capacity to better serve our members while positioning Progressions Credit Union for its next century of service."

Ten employees, including administrative staff and branch operations, will work at the new facility. The credit union currently has about 16 full-time equivalent employees, Vuong says.

While the new location strengthens the organization's physical footprint, Progressions also will invest in improving digital banking, shared branching, and nationwide ATM access, Vuong says.

"We are committed to meeting members where they are while expanding awareness of Progressions Credit Union throughout our community," Vuong says.
