Night Owl bar finds perch on Division

Restaurants & Retail

May 9, 2019

A new bar called Night Owl has opened at 223 N. Division, in an 800-square-foot leased space between Boombox Pizza and Fast Eddies Bar & Grill.

Owner-operator Trent Cochran says he purchased the business in November from his friend Andy Derrickson.

“Andy had remodeled it and planned to open a bar, but things didn’t quite work out,” he says. “I’d been interested in opening a bar, and it’s a great location. The opportunity was there, so I decided to take it on.”

Cochran says the Night Owl, which opened March 16, is his first foray into the bar and restaurant industry.

“Previously I was working in the marijuana industry, so this is all new to me and I’m learning a lot,” he says.

While the bar focuses mainly on creating craft cocktails, Cochran says it also serves a selection of wine and beer.
