The Lilac Room, an upscale craft cocktail lounge tucked between Spokane Comedy Club and Gamers Arcade Bar, is now open at 319 W. Sprague, in downtown Spokane.

The renovated 3,800-square-foot space, previously home to Pinot’s Palette, preserves the exposed brick and historic architecture the area is known for, says Levi Steverding, owner of Spokane-based Sturdy Solutions LLC, which executed the $200,000 renovation.

The Lilac Room is owned by Kevin and Renee Fandt, who also own Spokane Comedy Club and Gamers Arcade Bar, both of which operate under their company Bark Entertainment LLC, Steverding says.

The dimly-lit, high-end lounge offers couch seating and low tables for small bites and drinks. The space is intentionally designed to offer guests access to flow through all three establishments, which now function under one single liquor license, he says.

“In the winter, it’s a big advantage,” Steverding says. “It eliminates the need to wait in line. Guests with tickets to the comedy room can wait in the Lilac Room, have a cocktail, then be escorted to the club.”

Perhaps the most distinct feature of the Lilac Room is the bar’s pneumatic cocktail system, dubbed The Lilac Express, Steverding contends.

The Lilac Express is a tubing system that sprawls across the ceiling and walls. Barkeeps offer patrons four cocktail options to choose from: Lilac Heist, The Summit, Executive Session, or Butterfly Bloom. Drinks are measured and secured in a cocktail shaker before entering through a cocktail-sized door on the Lilac Express, where drinks travel and around the room before returning to the bar, and given one last shake, poured, and served, he says.

“It’s the second of its kind in the country,” Steverding says of the cocktail tubing system.

In addition to the dedicated Lilac Express cocktails, the lounge offers patrons signature cocktails, wine, champagne, beer, spirit-free concoctions, and 1.5-fluid-ounce pours from its high-end spirits collection, according to its website.
