Virtual reality arcade planned in Spokane's University District

A new gaming venue, Immerse VRcade LLC, is slated to open in early April at 1217 N. Hamilton, in Spokane’s University District.

Owner Pamela Glen says she decided to open up a virtual reality arcade that non-gamers—like herself—and experienced gamers both would enjoy, after her son introduced her to the virtual reality experience.

The arcade will showcase popular VR games, puzzles, music games, and educational games. Through VR technology, users will be able to access a digital world to attempt adventurous tasks like walking a plank 50 stories high above a city street, or driving in a rumbling cockpit of a race car.

Glen, who has been a resident of Spokane for 45 years, is the sole owner and general manager of the arcade.

Byrd Real Estate Group LLC, of Spokane, handled the lease for the 2,120 square-foot space. Branda Building and Design LLC, of Spokane Valley, is remodeling the splace, including removing three walls and building cubicles.
