Women's shoe store to kick off in Hayden

Once Upon A Shoe, a new women’s shoe boutique, is scheduled to open next month at 8206 N. Government Way, in Hayden.

The store will be located in a 1,350-square-foot space formerly occupied by children’s clothing store Paris in Bleu in the Hayden Creek strip mall.

The store is expected to employ between five and six part-time staff, including owner Daria Brown.

Brown says she’s still working on some light remodeling of the space, including painting and new lighting, but plans to open the weekend of June 8.

Brown, who is a certified public accountant with Spokane-based Fruci & Associates PS, says she’s always wanted to open a shoe store.

“A former client of mine opened a shoe store catering to women, and it’s still one of my favorite places to shop,” she says. “I figured there must be others like me who love shoes and would enjoy something like that here.”

Brown says the store will feature a variety of shoes, with an emphasis on brands like Vionic, Dasko, and AETrex.

“Vionic will be our anchor brand, and we’ll likely have one of the largest selections of their products in the Inland Northwest,” she says.
