Restaurants & Retail: Millwood Brewing opens taproom

Millwood Brewing Co. has opened its taproom and production space at 9013 E. Fredrick, in Millwood.

Company owner Chuck Watkins says he and his wife, Shelley Eslick-Watkins, purchased the property three years ago and have since been working to develop it into a brewery.

“The building had been vacant for some time before we purchased it and had to be rezoned for commercial use,” he says.

Watkins says Spokane-based Russell C. Page Architects PS and Spokane Valley-based Walls Construction Corp. handled the remodel.

He says the 2,200-square-foot space now features a full commercial production brewery, as well as an all-ages taproom.

“We produce and manufacture beer, as well as craft root beer and cream soda on site,” he says. “We’re also working with the Greater Northwest Food Truck Association to offer a Thursday-through-Saturday rotation of visiting food trucks.”
