Spokane Overstock adds two stores, plans for more

Company now has total of four outlets in region

August 31, 2017

Spokane Overstock LLC, which operates Overstocked Mattress & Furniture stores in Spokane and Spokane Valley, has opened two additional stores this summer, in Hayden and Missoula, giving it four in all, and says it plans to keep expanding.

Owner Nathan Chetrit says the company’s Hayden store, at 325 West Prairie Shopping Center, opened late this month, and its Missoula store, at 2230 N. Reserve, opened in June.

The company’s Hayden store occupies the 8,000-square-foot former Hancock Fabric space in the Prairie Shopping Center, which is located at the northwest corner of U.S. 95 and Prairie Avenue.

The store has four employees, and is open seven days a week Mon through Sat 10 to 7 p.m., and Sundays noon to 5 p.m.

Chetrit says the company’s 7,500-square-foot Missoula store is open during those same hours, and employs four people.

“Each location required a bit of remodeling work, but they’re both doing really well since opening,” he says. “We’re very excited to see how well they’ve been received.”

The company‘s outlets here are located at 2915 N. Division, on Spokane’s North Side, and at 9818 E. Montgomery, in Spokane Valley. It employs 11 people in all.

“We’re looking to expand and work toward becoming a nationwide company,” he says.

Originally from Arizona, Chetrit graduated from Gonzaga University in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration in accounting. He is one of Overstock’s three employees here, all of whom split their time between the company’s two Spokane stores.

Spokane Overstock is mostly a mattress store, but it also sells housewares and furniture.
