South Hill optometrist buys clinic building on 30th Avenue

Eyes for Life will expand to allow full-time associate

August 3, 2017
Mike McLean

Dr. Heavin Maier, owner of Spokane optometry practice Eyes for Life PS, has bought a two-story, 5,900-square-foot building at 412 E. 30th, where she hopes to move the practice in September.

Eyes for Life currently occupies about 1,800 square feet of space in a multitenant building at 3022 E. 57th.

The practice will have nine exam stations in the larger building, which will enable Maier’s current part-time associate, Dr. Kellen Robertson, to practice full time.

The current location only has three exam stations.

“It’s almost impossible for us to both see patients at the same time,” Maier says.

An optical shop affiliated with the practice will take up the first floor, and the optometry clinic will be on the second floor.

“We’ll expand our services,” Maier says. “We’ve invested in the latest technology for treating dry eye.”

Maier started the practice in 2005.

Robertson, an optometrist who has an emphasis in dry-eye management, joined Eyes for Life last year.

The stand-alone building on east 30th Avenue formerly was occupied by Advanced Eye Care & Therapies, which moved recently to the Tapio Office Center, at 104 S. Freya.

Craig Hunter and Rob Kannapien, both of Coeur d’Alene-based Coldwell Banker Commercial Schneidmiller Realty, and Terence Sullivan, of Spokane-based Sullivan Realty Inc., brokered the transaction.

Office

Zepublic.com Co., a Spokane information technology service provider that does business as Zepublic IT Solutions, has leased 740 square feet of office space at 164 S. Washington, where the company has moved from a home base. Doug Byrd and Cassandra Becker, both of Byrd Real Estate Group LLC, and Bob Spooner, of Goodale & Barbieri Co., handled the transaction.

Investment

Lilac City Properties LLC, of Spokane Valley, has bought as an investment the 15,200-square-foot, two-story North Central office building, at 1522 N. Washington, for $592,500. Cody George and Jason Jackson, both of Kiemle & Hagood Co., handled the transaction.

Sherman Pacific LLC, of Spokane, has bought as an investment a 12,700-square-foot warehouse building at 405 E. Pacific. Cody George, of Kiemle & Hagood Co., and Mike Craven, of Craven Co., handled the transaction.

Birch Properties of Spokane LLC has bought HMC Self Storage for $850,000. That facility has 18,300 square feet of covered storage units and a U-Haul moving equipment-rental dealership on 3 acres of land at 2194 Sand Canyon Road in Chewelah. Jeff Ottmar, of SVN Cornerstone, and Marc Shapori, of Century 21 Beutler & Associates, handled the transaction.

Big Rock 401K LLC, of Medical Lake, has bought as an investment an 1,800-square-foot office building on 1.4 acres of land at 10724 N. Government Way, in Hayden. Craig Hunter and Rob Kannapien, both of Coldwell Banker Commercial Schneidmiller Realty, handled the transaction.
