Door, window installer to move, expand in Valley

Operation on Trent will include fabrication shop

March 30, 2017
Mike McLean

Marcus Ridgely, owner of Window Replacement Systems Inc., which also does business as Northwest Window & Door, has bought a 16,600-square-foot, single-story building at 12015 E. Trent and plans to move the company there from smaller quarters at 12018 E. First.

Ridgley says the business will operate solely under the Northwest Window & Door name at the new location, which he hopes to open by June 1.

The 10-year-old company originally focused on replacing residential windows, but has expanded beyond that, he says.

“The business has grown, and we’ve added more products,” Ridgley says. “Were getting into new construction, and we’ll be getting into commercial storefronts.”

Northwest Window & Door handles a high-end line of Marvin-brand wood-framed windows and multiple brands of vinyl windows, he says.

The Trent Avenue facility will have four times the floor space as the current facility on First Avenue, Ridgely says.

It will have room for a fabrication shop for the commercial storefront aspect of the business, he says.

Northwest Window and Door currently has 10 employees.

“Were hoping to add a couple of salespeople and a couple of project managers over there,” he says.

Doug Byrd, of Byrd Real Estate Group LLC, and Joe Westenskow, of Real Estate Marketplace Northwest Inc., handled the transaction.

Office & Shop

Vaughn & Associates, which also does business as Apps of Spokane, a new service provider to insurance companies, has leased 700 square feet of space in a two-story office building at 2510 N. Pines. Vic Overholser, of SDS Realty Inc., handled the transaction.

Ben Fackler Construction Inc., a McMinnville, Ore.-based contractor that does business as Pro Handyman Services, has leased 3,800 square feet of commercial space in the Boone Avenue Business Court, at 3929 E. Boone, for a Spokane-area office. Sharon Reynolds and Doug Byrd, both of Byrd Real Estate Group LLC, and Drew Ulrick, of NAI Black, handled the transaction.

Healthy Habits Wellness Clinic Inc., a southern Idaho-based chain of weight loss centers, has leased 2,000 square feet of space for a new clinic in the Nevada Place Commercial complex, at 10220 N. Nevada. Joel Crosby, of Coldwell Banker Tomlinson Commercial, and JoAnne Watts, of JMA Commercial Real Estate LLC, handled the transaction. Healthy Habits also operates clinics at 13318 E. Sprague, in Spokane Valley, and at 2201 N. Government Way, in Coeur d’Alene, as well as clinics in Meridian and Caldwell, Idaho.

Retail

Press Play to Start LLC, a Coeur d’Alene dealer of video and board games, has leased 2,100 square feet of retail space formerly occupied by Cameo Bridal at 2040 N. Main, in the Riverstone development, and has moved there from smaller quarters at 1121 E. Sherman. Chris Schreiber, Casey Brazil, and Pat Eberlin, all of Kiemle & Hagood Co., handled the transaction.

Development

Avista Development Inc., the real estate development arm of Spokane-based Avista Corp., has bought a nearly 1-acre parcel of land with a 16,000-square-foot building, at 521 E. Sprague, as part of its planned 5-acre Catalyst Project redevelopment. Mike Livingston and Craig Soehren, both of Kiemle & Hagood Co., handled the transaction.
