McCloskey Construction begins work on new North Side medical building

Company also constructing dental offices on West Plains

McCloskey Construction Inc., of Spokane, began work this week on a new two-story, 12,300-square-foot professional office building that will be occupied partly by physical and occupation therapy clinics.

The building, which is expected to cost $2.5 million to develop, will be located at 5905 N. Mayfair, the former site of the Mayfair Professional Building, which suffered fire damage and was demolished in 2013.

The building’s first floor tenants will be Spokane Occupational & Hand Therapy and Inspire Physical Therapy. Both businesses are owned and operated by Sean Sipe, who says this will be the second location to combine the two in one space.

A Spokane Occupational & Hand Therapy clinic currently is located across the street at 111 E. Central. That clinic will move into the new building’s first floor, a 6,000-square-foot space it will share with Inspire Physical Therapy.

“Our north location has been one of our busiest in Spokane,” says Sipe. “We’re excited to expand that and move into a larger, more modern space.”

Sipe owns two other Spokane occupational & hand therapy clinics, one at 12121 E. Broadway and the other at 601 W. Fifth.

The North Side clinic will move into the new building’s first floor once construction is complete this fall.  The building’s second floor space is available for lease.

Separately, McCloskey Construction says it plans to start construction this summer on a two-story, 12,000-square-foot building project at the northeast corner of Westbow Boulevard and Aero Road.

The building so far is expected to house two dental clinics, KidSmile Dental and West Plains Dental, with available space for a third tenant. Additional details about that project, including its cost, weren’t immediately available.
