Cornerstone's worldwide office network rebrands

Shorter SVN name reflects large franchise's evolution

March 10, 2016
Mike McLean

Sperry Van Ness|Cornerstone, the boutique Spokane commercial real estate brokerage, has changed its name to SVN Cornerstone to reflect a rebranding by the Boston-based Sperry Van Ness International Corp. network that the brokerage here joined less than a year ago.

The entire franchise operation now is operating as SVN, says Guy Byrd, SVN Cornerstone’s managing director. The shortened name reflects the company’s evolution and recognizes the acronym that it has been using informally for a number of years, he says.

SVN Cornerstone has 11 licensed agents and a support staff of three based at its Spokane office at 1311 N. Washington, where it occupies 3,000 square feet of space in a multitenant building owned by cousins Guy and Matt Byrd, the agency’s principals, who founded Cornerstone in 2004.

SVN Cornerstone serves clients in Eastern Washington and North Idaho, and can market properties through SVN’s 1,300 advisers and staff located in more than 190 markets worldwide.

Retail

Senator Guitar Shop, a new Spokane music store, has leased 1,200 square feet of retail space at 618 N. Monroe. Terry McAleer, of NAI Black, and Tim Kestell, of Kiemle & Hagood Co., handled the transaction.

Hockey Source LLC, a Kennewick-based specialty sporting goods store, has leased 2,900 square feet of retail space in the Tombari Center, at 98 E. Francis, for a Spokane outlet. Kaitlin Caudle and Bryan Walker, both of NAI Black, handled the transaction.

Spokane Glass Centers, a new home, auto, and commercial glass sales and installation concern, has leased 2,600 square feet of space at 2319 N. Division. Tim Kestell, of Kiemle & Hagood Co., handled the transaction.

M3K LLC, of Spokane Valley, has bought as an investment a 69,400-square-foot building in the Opportunity Shopping Center, at 12109 E. Sprague. Kaitlin Caudle, of NAI Black, and Paul Sleeth and Billy Sleeth, both of Colliers International, handled the lease.

Office

The Artisans Ark, a Spokane nonprofit employment services agency, has leased 5,600 square feet of space at 4019 E. Central and has moved there from smaller quarters at 200 E. Second. Taylor Gibbons, of SVN Cornerstone, and Tracy Lucas, of Kiemle & Hagood Co., handled the transaction.

ACI Coatings LLC, a Spokane Valley-based painting contractor, has leased 2,600 square feet of office and warehouse space at 4687 W. Seltice Way, in Coeur d’Alene, for a satellite location. Craig Hunter and Rob Kannapien, both of Coldwell Banker Commercial Schneidmiller Realty, handled the transaction.

Global Credit Union has purchased the five-story, 45,600-square-foot Freeway Plaza office building, at 1400 W. Fourth Avenue, and plans to move its headquarters there in the fall from smaller quarters at 1520 W. Third. Casey Brazil, of Kiemle & Hagood Co., handled the transaction.
