Whiz Kids to move, stay in River Park Square

.

December 4, 2014
Staff Report

Whiz Kids, a locally owned children’s toy retailer, plans to move next month to a 4,500-square-foot space on the third floor of River Park Square, the downtown mall located at 808 W. Main.

The store will be located at the west end of the mall, on the third floor and next to Nordstrom. For the past nine years, the store has been located on the mall’s second floor and at its east end, in a corridor that leads toward Macy’s.

Whiz Kids owner Jan St. George says the new space is slightly bigger than its current location and will be better configured for the store’s operations. Whiz Kids has been in its current location for almost 10 years, she says.

The specialty toy store first opened about 30 years ago, and St. George has owned it for the past five years. In addition to her, the store has 10 part-time employees.
