Owners of the Renaissance at Coeur d’Alene Assisted Living Community have begun work on the third of five planned 7,500-square-foot buildings there.

The Renaissance is located at 2772 W. Avante Loop, a couple of blocks west of Woodland Middle School, in northwest Coeur d’Alene.

The phase currently under construction includes a one-story, $560,000 building that will have 16 beds in individual rooms with private baths, says Ron Glauser, who co-owns The Renaissance with his wife, Valeri, and another couple, Fred and Mindy Weber.

The Renaissance currently includes two fully occupied 16-bed buildings and has been in operation about 15 months, Glauser says.

Riverside Land Holdings LLC, the holding company for the Renaissance, is the contractor on the project, and Forte Architecture & Planning Inc., of Coeur d’Alene, designed it. The project is expected to be completed in October.

The third building will have the same French chateau-style architecture, masonry, and limestone fireplace as the buildings constructed earlier, Glauser says. 

Each one-story building is a stand-alone facility with its own common living room-parlor area, dining room, library, kitchen, spa, and laundry facilities, he says.

The Renaissance currently has a staff of 18, and Glauser says he expects to hire an additional 10 employees when the third phase is complete.

Assisted-living services the Renaissance provides include a full-time nurse on staff, medication management, diabetic health monitoring, scheduling of medical appointments, communications with care providers, a health and wellness program, and assistance with activities of daily living, says Glauser, who is a registered nurse. 

The complex is on a 5.7-acre parcel of land that has room for two additional 16-bed buildings, for an eventual total of 80 beds, he says.
