Francesca's adds second women's clothing store in Spokane

Outlet opens downtown in River Park Square mall

February 27, 2014

A women’s clothing outlet of Houston-based retailer Francesca’s Holdings Corp. has opened in River Park Square as the company’s second store in the Spokane area.

The downtown store’s manager, Toni Burke, says the Francesca’s outlet opened there on the second level of the shopping mall on Feb. 8. The store is located in a space previously occupied by a sandwich eatery near the skywalk leading to the Crescent Court building.

The other Francesca’s outlet here opened on the first level of the Spokane Valley Mall about nine months ago, Burke says. The stores combined employ 14 people, mostly in part-time positions, she says.

She says Francesca’s carries clothing targeted mostly at women ages 18 to 35, but it also stocks toys, home decor, jewelry, and accessories.

“The store has a little bit for everyone,” Burke says. “The whole concept is to have a boutique of one-of-a-kind items. Francesca’s will stock a particular dress in a few sizes, and when it’s gone, it’s gone.”

She says that the corporation may consider opening a third outlet in the Spokane area, depending on customers’ response to the new store downtown.

Francesca’s Holdings, which was founded in 1999, now has more than 400 boutiques in 45 states across the U.S. and also sells items online.
