Hanson builds retail structure west of Spokane Valley Mall

A Select Comfort outlet to be tenant there; work to be finished next month

Hanson Industries Inc., of Spokane Valley, has begun construction of a three-bay retail building in the Evergreen Crossing shopping center, just west of the Spokane Valley Mall.

Mike Turbak, city of Spokane Valley senior permit specialist, says the structure is being built at 13920 E. Indiana, on a retail pad near the northeast corner of the shopping center.

Yost, Mooney & Pugh Contractors Inc., of Spokane, is the general contractor for the building, which is about 7,000 square feet overall and will have national bed retailer Select Comfort as one of its tenants. The city permit listed value for the project, including tenant improvements for Select Comfort, is estimated at about $592,000.

Mark Arnn, a Yost, Mooney & Pugh Contractors project manager, says the building is expected to be completed next month.

Select Comfort is a Minnesota-based manufacturer of the Sleep Number bed and markets a line of adjustable-firmness mattresses, branded the Sleep Number bed, and bedding accessories.

Information on other potential retail tenants wasn't listed on the permit application.

The Evergreen Crossing shopping center includes a store operated by Hobby Lobby Stores Inc., a national craft supply retailer, and outlets for Honey Baked Ham and Weight Watchers.
