T.W. Clark Construction LLC, of Spokane Valley, has won a $9.9 million contract to erect a large classroom building at Spokane Falls Community College.

The project is one of three, worth a total of $13.4 million, expected to get under way on the college's campus this year.

Dennis Dunham, Community Colleges of Spokane's facilities director, says T.W. Clark is scheduled to break ground this month on the 47,500-square-foot, two-story classroom building. The new facility will be located on the south side of the campus, directly east of the administration building.

NAC|Architecture, of Spokane, designed the structure, which is expected to be completed by fall 2013.

Another upcoming job at SFCC, for an early learning center, is going through a redesign process, Dunham says. It's budgeted to cost about $2.5 million. A construction schedule hasn't yet been set.

In June, Dunham says, SFCC expects to begin an athletic field project, estimated to cost around $1 million. The contractor bidding process was scheduled to be completed this month for that project.
