Restaurants & Retail

April 22, 2021

Ben Kandola, president of Ashley Homestore Spokane, says the furniture retailer will celebrate the grand opening of a new store on May 1.

The new furniture and mattress retail outlet will be located at 13414 E. Sprague, in Spokane Valley. Kandola also operates the Ashley Homestore Spokane store at 10425 N. Newport Highway, on the North Side.

Ashley Furniture Corp. originally was founded in 1945 as a sales organization with headquarters in Chicago. Later, in 1970, Arcadia Furniture of Arcadia, Wisconsin, was founded as a manufacturer specializing in cabinet commodores and tables distributed nationally through Ashley Furniture.

The companies subsequently merged in 1982, and Ashley Furniture moved operations to Wisconsin.
