Frontier Behavioral plans remodel at Rock Pointe

$1M project in review for mental wellness org

August 31, 2023
Erica Bullock

City of Spokane building officials are reviewing plans for a remodel of 17,200 square feet of office space at the Rock Pointe Corporate Center for an administration facility for Frontier Behavioral Health, permit information shows.

The admin facility will be located on the fourth floor of Rock Pointe Building III, on the same floor as offices for Molina Healthcare Inc. and Inland Allergy & Asthma Associates PS, design plans show.

Frontier Behavioral Health provides behavioral health services, including mental health and substance use treatment, to individuals of all ages and prioritizes services for people and family at high risk or high need.

A representative of Frontier Behavioral Health declines to comment on the plans for the space.

Site plans, however, show the project will include the demolition of interior office walls and the construction of 25 new offices totaling 6,100 square feet, a 1,700-square-foot waiting room, 1,700 square feet of meeting room space, a 1,000-square-foot break room, 750 square feet of space for play therapy, 660 square feet of storage space, and 360 square feet for two reception areas. The project also will include new doors, finishes, and cabinetry.

Rock Pointe Corporate Center is located near the burgeoning North Bank district in Spokane on the northeast corner of Washington Street and Boone Avenue, at 1330 N. Washington.

Spokane-based Leone & Keeble Inc. is the contractor on the $1 million tenant improvement project, according to permit plans. Architectural Ventures, of Spokane Valley, is the architect, and DS Studio, of Spokane, is the interior designer. Mechanical and electrical engineering services are provided by Kartchner Engineering PLLC and KWR LLC, both of Spokane.

A representative of Leone & Keeble couldn’t be reached immediately for comment.

In March, commercial real estate investment company Alturas Capital Partners LLC, of Eagle, Idaho, purchased the Rock Pointe West half of the office campus, which includes Rock Pointe Building III, where the behavioral health care organization’s admin facility will be located.

Frontier Behavioral Health is the third largest nonprofit in Spokane and Kootenai counties, according to the Journal’s most recent list of largest social service nonprofits, which was published in October. The organization reported a total of 881 employees at the time and an annual budget of $84.1 million.
