Spokane developer's office to be remodeled

Tenant-improvement project carries proposed cost of $575K

June 5, 2025
Dylan Harris

Lanzce G. Douglass Inc. is planning a $575,000 remodel of its Spokane headquarters, a building permit application and site plan on file with the city show.

Owned by developer Lanzce Douglass, the company’s two-floor office is located at 1402 E. Magnesium Road, east of Nevada Street near Lilac Lanes & Casino in north Spokane.

Douglass declines to comment on the planned project.

The scope of the proposed work covers about 12,000 square feet of space in the building.

The tenant-improvement project will include demolition work and the removal or replacement of some partitions, primarily on the building’s second floor, plans show. Additional updates listed on the site plan include new finishes, some vinyl wall covering installation, new window sills at all windows, new motorized window shades, some lighting reconfiguration, and more.

Lanzce G. Douglass Inc. is listed as the contractor for the remodel project, and Michael Wallace | Architect PLLC, of Spokane, is listed as the architect.

DS Studio, of Spokane, is the interior designer for the project. Spokane-based Kartchner Engineering PLLC is providing engineering services.

When the Journal last reported on Douglass, in March 2024, he was planning a 192-unit apartment complex, at 1565 E. Farwell Road.

Initial plans showed the North Woods Apartments, as they were dubbed, will have over 243,600 square feet of residential space.

Work appears to be ongoing, as fire-alarm system applications for the four-building complex were submitted to Spokane County in May.
